I Am The Resurrection-The Stone Roses
as i rode on my scoot earlier today,i noticed there were quite several vehicles, mostly taxis and a couple of cars with a green sticker on the bumper, labelled 'CNG'.
so as i was doin my work at the office today,i exercised a lil liberty and googled CNG.
so according to Wikipedia, the abbreviation means-Compressed Natural Gas,a substitute for petrol, diesel and propane fuel and considered as environmentally clean compared to the fuels stated above.it is made by compressing natural gas and lately due to high fuel costs and 'Go Green Environmentally Friendly' approach,it is now being used in light duty passenger vehicles, trucks and school buses.
and i read elsewhere,Compressed Natural Gas is not 'new' in the market.the idea of using CNG was as far back as in 1930s.Australians considered it as an automotive fuel in 1937 and the French used it in WW1.
Currently in our small lil island, there are 3 CNG stations.one in jurong island, jln buroh and the last one is at mandai link operated by Smart energy.Smart also plans 3 more stations which will be operating on the 2nd half of 2008,at serangoon north ave 5,jln bukit merah and one more located in the east;bedok.
and with the global unstability and prices escalating, slim chances are that even if everything goes back 'normal',prices are goin to be receded.and of course i hope not.and as an example, you can't even get a 20 cents epok2 anywhere here in singapore again.
so the thought of using CNG on vehicles really brightens up our shady future;well maybe someday they might invent and could use it on bikes and scooters as well,or maybe diesel powered.but all that we can do now,is conserve whatever that we have.go green and stay green.save the earth and save ourselves(or Save Our Asses??)
pray hard!
