Shake Your Pom Pom-Missy Elliott

the rain was the real reason i was forced to seek shelter and waited for it to subside impatiently for about two hours earlier this evening.and i waited restlessly in the office, surfing the net till i was abruptly interrupted by a power failure.by then i was completely blank, staring at the emergency light for a few moments till i reached for my mobile phone and rang up the in-house techs to fix the faulty power supply.

it was raining still when i walked with the brolly on one hand and the other clutching a paperbag with my adidas sneakers wrapped in a plastic bag as i had to,decided earlier to swapped the sneakers with my boots as i did't want it to be caught wet in the rain.but i don't mind my clothes drenched though.

i had to shift a dirtbike which was blocking my scoot, and i intentionally pushed it further away, blocking a couple of bikes as did so,how i wished i could ram it against the trees, some folks are simply dumb, can't they check how they park their vehicles, can't they be more considerate?good enough i didn't scratch or cut the brake cords or something,oh revenge would be sweet..

i had to shave this morning;i looked like a lost Mexican and the grunge look is so distasteful.woke up with a bad tummy ache and i couldn't remember i took a shower or not.
but i remember the bloody neighbour on top was banging and rattling last midnight and i grabbed my exercise bar and used its end to hit the ceiling in a continuous motion real hard and loud.the irritating noise above stopped and i dozed off almost instantaneously.

and i am so sad that i have to work long hours over this weekend and yes we're real busy!!!back to business boys and girls!!!!!!!!!!!

Maria Maria-Santana

i don't really know who to point my finger to as i made a turn and the engine croaked, jerked and gone dead as it gradually slide at the side of the road until i slowly pulled the brake levers and hit the hazard lights.
I laughed.oh no i was angry and again i had to push it to the nearest sheltered multi storey car park, undo my helmet, took a peek under it and already a small pool of petrol collected underneath on the floor dripping directly from the greasy carburetor.i removed my electric shades, rubbed off the sweat and moist off my forehead, and called my wife to rescue me who came along about 10 minutes later with her dad,and sent me to work, which already by then i had no motivation to do anything.
i did all the work that needed to be done and once all were completed i sneaked off earlier than usual.took a cab home which cost me about $7.00.
washed myself up,put on nice gear and we rode off on dad's scoot and went down to china square and checked out the flea market, where we met El Nazir and Heedaya who walked with us awhile and parted ways.and despite the scooter trouble which was knocking my spirits down, the flea market trip actually lighten up whatever which was left on that sunday afternoon.some kinda therapy, yes it was-it's actually exciting,as we move slowly from table to table, slowly looking and admiring the bargainable toys, used clothings, accessories and various other weird and strange stuffs;some which actually brought me back to my childhood days, and though we only bought a little Mars Attack figurine,i felt happy and looking forward to our next return.
we went around town and ended up at beach road 'army market',despite the heat and cramped up narrow walkway,we marched our way through and bumped onto a nice looking old school school bag in military green and got it for only $16 after bargaining with the old man who was really happy enough to rid off the bag as he claimed was the only last one available after so many years hanging on the makeshift hooks above.a good buy,and we went for our dinner @simpang bedok and return home to get ourselves ready for the big game that night.

it was a tough match at Anfield last night though many would blame the poor referee over certain controversial issues but Liverpool managed to overcome the devils with a wonderful strike by Nando Torres and another by Ngog, who slipped the ball at stoppage time.
it was actually a win worth celebrating.

it was a Super Sunday despite the scooter breakdown.

Strutter-The Donnas

it was a bright sunny sunday evening,we had just attended a wedding reception and the scooter joined a long queue down TM1 shopping centre heading down towards the free-motorcycle carpark and midway i switched off the engine,as i thought i would save a lil energy on the scoot but was very, very surprise as we approached the gantry, the bloody scooter won't start as i pressed the ignition button.

we were truly stunned and practically lost for words, and that really ruined our beautiful sunday.i didn't really know what to do then,we went to get our stuffs and got back to the information desk and informed the guest officer if it was alright if we leave the stalled scooter overnight and the tow truck to rescue it the next day.the lady made a couple of phone calls and replied that they need my particulars and contact no and still with a friendly smile she said it's ok for us to leave it there, but just to ensure that it'll be removed the next day.

just my luck,i guess.

so i took the public transport to work today, armed with shades and headphones plugged to the psp.it wasn't that bad, only the burning sun that i can't definitely ignore though i tried as much to avoid the sun rays but it didn't help much.

and after work, head all the way down to the workshop again.so they've fixed my scoot and the old man mechanic was apologising still making me feel rather awkward, well it's not his fault anyway.and they only made me pay the towing fee but the rest of it Free Of Charge.
being thankful,i left the workshop with a sheepish grin and a slight nervousness...well i was just afraid that it might go dead halfway to home.but it didn't,just like the mechanic's assurance,"Sam i've checked through,it's the wiring to the magnetic coil which caused the fault."

but i somehow doubt him.and we already making plans of replacing the scoot.but deep down it's really hard for me to part with her.

how now brown cow?should i get another scooter?a vespa would be cool......

Stay-U2

i felt a lil stammer.

but it took me less than a minute to unscrew and dismantle the battery compartment's cover, especially after we went through the 'crash course' last night.Minerva stood at the side, watching in an unease manner with that worried look on her face and myself was not an exception i believe, and deep down my bleeding heart was throbbing mad,and 'Oh if after i fit the new battery in and it wouldn't work, what would i do next?'
hate those thoughts and feeling.but right after the new batt was placed and secured and all the necessary screws were tightened,i slot the key in the hole and turn it,with my left hand pulling the brake lever and my right thumb gently pressing the ignition button and simultaneously squeezing the grip and slowly revving it the throttle ....Vrrooooommmm Trrrrrrrr Trrrrrrrrr.....
There was a loud blaring roar and we both jumped with joy.we were fortunate that it was successful.
i am so glad that we did it.
yup,we did it right.with the right people who guided us along and thank God for that.

so dad's scoot was towed anyway,up onto the tow truck by the kind gentleman.so it will be shipped directly to the workshop but could only be examined by the mechanic on monday morning.and God knows what's was actually caused the stall.

Have a Super Sunday Yo!

The Ballad Of Tom Jones-Space Feat Cerys

some jackasses vandalised a showroom with spraypaint and recorded their actions and fled in a car and went on submitting the vid in youtube.coincidentally there was another guy in a close vicinity who filmed their entire act with his phone cam,and also posted the vid in youtube as well..

fly you fools!

Gimme One Reason-Tracy Chapman

my scooter stalled again last evening after i rescued Minerva's dad, whom scooter also stalled on his way back home after a long day at work.how ironic.how sad.how angry and displeased i was with only just days before i've collected my scoot from the workshop and the crazy bill that was imposed on me.

we called up the workshop, still controlling my emotions,i talked to the mechanic, explaining the situation and he told me to switch batteries with dad's.
but nothing could be done until the tow truck arrived, which came and by then was hours later.and when i tried to extract the battery from the complicated compartment of the scooter, the driver told me he had to rush to Jurong island and asked me if it is possible if he leave the scooters at the carpark and he'll come to tow it on sunday instead, which was of course alright with me and also will allow me ample time to unscrew and figure out how to dismantle the battery from it's obscure nest and also will let me examine the problems further -only if the problems easy enough for me to rectify.

but i was wrong.with all the screws that me,dad & minerva had loosened and only one with a worn out thread that halted us,and without that one screw removed,it was totally impossible to remove the cover.italian's scooters were design for one thing-complication.
and so after hours of toil and sweat we decided to quit and return home with a heavy heart and soiled palms and by then it was already past midnite.

this morning,as i was thinking of the situation the phone rang and the good mechanic was on the other line, told me to go to ah boy's and purchase a similar battery and try to install it myself
which i agreed and right after dzuhr prayers we hailed a cab down to kelantan lane where ah boy asked,"lu mau taiwan ke jipon made?"
of course i chose the latter, even at discounted price it was about double the price of taiwan's but ah boy whipped out additional free throttle grips and some other freebies into the bag and letting his 'rough-looking' sleeve tatooed assistant to explain to me the procedures of filling up the acid in to the battery.

we then jumped into a cab which shielded us from the scorching heat and got us back by 2pm.

and now as i type this,we're awaiting for the battery, and of course the result when i finally hooked it up onto my scoot.

hopefully it'll be fine..........

Lim Ah Boy. 3 Kelantan Lane, Tel: 62967914, 62968035--if you wanna get bike stuffs and all-your one stop place and they're even open on major public hols and sundays.

happy deepavali folks!

Supersonic-Oasis

bloody scoot broke down again.

everything was good.
the drizzle and the morning swim, even with the distant roar of thunder, the lifeguards did not drive us out of the pool.finished my 10 laps and washed myself up totally ignoring the pack of weird guys with mini speedos and revealing private parts in the washroom.hopped on my scoot and rode to a nearby convenient store and got meself butter m&ms and a packet of wholemeal bread and as i got back to the scoot i knew something was not right when i pressed the ignition start button.there was a choking sound and it went pause, and i could not revive it,there wasn't even a sound.only the keys jangling,my heart beat and whispers in my ears suggesting strongly that i should call up the bikebulance to rescue and tow away my scoot to the workshop.damn.
i pushed it.push it all the way back to ebok's place.it wasn't far and as i left the carpark and turned down the road,i was already sitting and balancing on the scooter as it was a slope down all the way to ebok's.i parked it nicely and called up the workshop and arrange all the necessary details.
worried.
it was raining cats and dogs again, and that's when i dozed off.
and when i woke up it was Hungary vs Portugal re-run match on footy channel and when i took a peek from the window,i noticed my scoot was gone-they have took it and shortly afterwards the mechanic called me up-told me that i could come down anytime soon as he was already checking the faulty parts.he also assured me that nothing serious could have caused the stall.
i took the train, but headed towards redhill first,as i had to sign the surety deeds-surety as my sis was given an opportunity by her employer to provide the fees and all equipments and necesssities for her to undergo a diploma in nursing at Nyp.and so she was bonded-and that's where i came in,together with her hubby,as guarantors,as a guarantee that she will complete her studies and will stick to the regulations as stated in the papers that we jointly signed.i know she can do it.
and so after signing the papers, dali sent me down to the workshop and that's where i was given the shock.
it's not the battery or anything close which i thought that could have caused the stall,it was the magnetic coil which had worn out, badly.
and together with the tow and service charge.it cost me a $455.00 and a long sigh.

and now i think i have to watch my expenditure till next payday.but that cool dkny watch that i saw in the display case earlier was really cool ,and they said they could give me a 30% discount...oh my!!gotta be strong!!!!

Gimme Gimme Gimme-Beenie Man

damn!
i've submitted a long post earlier but to my disappointment it somehow disappeared.
and i've to re-type all over again.

i wish i could stay in Malaysia longer,or elsewhere, anywhere but here.
was real busy the moment when i got back to work and had to rush.and i to think back just few days ago we were having a fantabulous time.

the trip was fun-the speed demon crazy bus ride on the dim superhighway and to spice it up there was a collision on the other road direction during our journey, the vehicles involved in the accident was completely shattered and the entire area looked like it was blown up by explosives, but we didn't notice any gory corpses anyway.
i had zero memory of how Melaka looked like and upon arrival the discourteous cabbie driver already painted a bad picture of the historical city.the hotel that we checked in that night was horrendous, and the four of us dubbed the shabby place as 'the worst hotel ever!'the pillows and bed was damp, the door was in a bad shape, the windows unlocked, the floors sticky, the tv which is placed on a rack beside an old creaking creepy cupboard which looked like a confession box and probably troops of ticks inhabiting the interiors as well.instead of resting after about four hours of tiring bus ride,we went out to grab a bite.and at the table sipping our teas and coffees when suddenly one of us blurted,"KL anyone?"and instantaneously everybody agreed.
so we got back, our baggages still intact,we slept with towels wrapped around the pillows and the most uncomfortable rest in a foreign land ever.
the next morning we marched to famosa and followed by breakfast and grabbed our bags and headed down to the bus station.bought ourselves a $13 ringgit coach tickets to kolumpo.$13 ringgit,my goodness, really worth every single cent.
another about an hour and a half journey and we disembarked at puduraya.we tirelessly walked and inhaled the bad pollution and the forever bad traffic condition of busy KL.found ourselves a charming hotel, cheaper than the one in Melaka.Clean with a capital C,comfortable, safe and good service.also quick easy access to bukit bintang area.
but the city is similar to ours, the shopping centres and occasional irritating touts, and the only thing we did was just walking around, stopped for camera poses or Ramly burgers or drinks;we had A&W,Subway,Wendy's and many other tasty food which is deemed non-halal in sg,gobbling it all down and feeling hungry still and if we were to extend our stay longer,it will definitely extend my waistline further.
shopping?forget KLCC or the Times square.the trip will not be complete without visiting Chow Kit and Petaling St-that's where the excitement in fake-brands and bargain-shopping is best done.but just remember if you start bargaining on a particular item, remember to purchase it and don't take pictures anyhow or you will sure be approached by unfriendly folks.

and now we're planning for another getaway soon.a nice place with sunshine, white sandy beaches and comfortable budget rooms.can't wait!

Devil In The Blue Dress-Donaeo

Deprived of a long proper good rest since last day off.

and it has been about a week now that i've skipped rice and sugary sweetness ever-lovely gassy drinks and chocolates, and the daily gym trainings had actually seen a progress of re-building the stamina and actually reduced my weight to 79kilos,which is good news.
besides burning fats and gaining muscles,Minerva and her family entirely actually supported this good cause that i'm fighting for and they too besides sharing tips of a good lifestyle her mom actually cooked noodles and soupy veggie dishes for the both of us ever since we announced that we're officially on a diet.Very Healthy!

it's been real crazy at work with so many stuffs to handle and so many events to run last weekend and not only in one place but spread out all over across the island and we had to squeeze our energies and tolerate the blazing heat and unpredictable rain which has been set upon us lately.

not only the weather is depleting my morale,in fact an unfortunate incident last children's day even caused two fellow colleagues to be removed from work of which details i will not publicize here, which is very saddening in fact and i do hope God will deal with those arrogants who used power and wealth ;twisting and manipulating truths and caused the innocents to be wrongfully accused and shamed.

but it's not all sadness after all,and the leave that i've applied two weeks back was only approved by my cheeky boss yesterday and that means the sudden 'Strobists' Field Trip To Historical Melaka' this weekend is a big GO!, and we only managed to clinched the bus tickets earlier today and i'm very  excited already and we've got about a day left to pack our bags and stuffs, and the last time i set foot there was about 18 years back probably.yes,it's a very long time since, and i can barely recall the prominent landmarks and all but this trip is surely goin' to be real fun with Nazir,Heedaya and my jolly beloved missus!

To Formosa!!!!!

as i type this,i'm actually cooling myself down, with the air conditioned switched to the max as i was totally exhausted after pushing Minerva's dad's scoot as it broke down few blocks away from the workshop.left the scoot by the shutters entrance, stashed the key at the side compartment and we hopped on to a cab which took us back home.
the ironic thing is that i just collected mine yesterday, but mine was working well only that the friendly mechanic serviced and tuned the scoot's performance to it's peak and now it's working real good and it only made me sad to send her dad's with it's petrol flushing down the ground as i twisted the throttle earlier and along the way it was moving with constant vibrations, the motor was roaring but only with hiccups in between traffics and moving off with a very low power start-a sign that there was some deliberate leakage somewhere and the scoot went to a stationery dead position along the journey, unfortunate as i had to heave and pushed the big maxi scoot some good few kilometres.fortunate-we made it to the workshop-and back home without a midnite cab charge.

i just hope that there's nothing serious with the scoot.

Sleep Now!
