All Around The World-Oasis

only a couple of days to 2009.it's crazy here at work.economical gloom or not-the new year's eve countdown celebration still proceed, and preparation is currently ongoing.

i'm actually sick and tired of this same old routine year in,year out-and if i'm really given a chance-i would rather stay away from all these madness, the sea of sweat, the noise, the bad traffic condition, the freakin long queues at the toilet, the amount of puke along the sidewalk-i just had enough of this.i picture myself far,far away-where it's quiet and peaceful-no anxious strangers eagerly hugging and kiss you with bad body odour and alcoholic breath, greeting "Happy New Year,Dude!!!!!!"

i was almost however escaped this work priority that was given to me,but i had no other option-and so it is,right after the stroke of midnight, filling the entire complex with auld lang syne boosting thru the speakers at the touch of the button and my job is done, and handing it over to dj jason chow and i'll be walking out of the place to my quiet space in no time, dude.

and that reminds me-it's gonna be a very long day tomorrow-bloody rehearsals....damn

nevertheless,to all my muslim brothers and sisters-i wanna wish all you guys a salaam muharam hijrah 1430,may God shower us with blessings, good health and protect us from calamities,Insya Allah,Amin.

and also i wanna congratulate my buddy brother akai and his beloved wife nuras,oh finally....and though i'm couple of weeks negligently late putting this up,i hope it's ok-coz they're happily married!God Bless Em' Both!(oh boy,and i felt weird putting on wax on my hair on that day!!haha!!!)

Fox On The Run-Sweet

Rock On Tis!!!!!Yeahhhh!!!!!!

A Number Of Microphones-Propellerheads

it's xmas.hot damn and i'm at work now.it's been raining real bad this past few days.the temperature yesterday was 26 degrees,cold-especially when cornered with sudden gusts of wind blow-felt like being pierced through with cold icy knives.anyway i'm being overly exaggerating-rather quiet here in my workplace, everybody probably still in their bed snuggling comfortably, while i'm here *sob* at work.

a new hope

2009 is drawing near, and there's so much things to do.we've gotta make preparations for the countdown party,i gotta introduce a meticulous planning-with the 'big day' only about 6 months away-oooooo-and that's my countdown.its gonna be insane,i guess.

shame-shame SG fans

the match between Singapore and Vietnam was disappointing, and i'm not talking about the actual fight on the pitch,it's just those sore losers who so call themselves 'fans' whom after the match provoked fellow vietnamese fans;hurling vulgarities, obscene fingers and plastic bottles;which is totally unnecessary, totally unprofessional-embarassingly,singapore.that is a totally misplaced patriotism-oh please, don't call that patriotism at all-shame on you guys!

Lady Rain-Indecent Obsession

its a bad time to go picnic.
those dark clouds in the skies, dull and gray background, people needed to be constantly armed with an umbrella or a rain jacket packed neatly underneath their bags, coz when the rain come, the entire place will be flushed, and yes that includes nice shoes-yours and mine.

bad time to ride on the scoots or bikes,oh yes you know it don't you?especially when you're late for work or appoinments, and the heavy traffic you need to weave in and out, with those slick yet small 2 wheelers, hmmm, take the train,my friend, that's my advice.

work.
during this festive december-school break and the entire battalion paraded my workplace-and my workplace had plentiful events and shows for both young and old to cater to,which means not only sleep i've been deprived of,but quality time with my loved ones.but that's life.then again its planning which is utmost important if i want to divide time for work and play.and so far i'm still NOT complaining.hmmm.

Liverpool F.C.
although the tie with adventurous(or should i say 'lucky') hull city boys last saturday was really shocking, especially when they were leading 2-0 initially, thank God our skipper Stevie G saved us-and with most of our top 3 contenders had the same fate like us,we're still No.1 on the chart.and we do have good reason to be merry.next match this sunday at emirates stadium-against the gunners-and we're gonna win!!!

Kiss Me-Six Pence None The Richer

my holga suxx.it took me an exhaustive week long-going around carrying it around in a casual /non casual shooting spree-and during this economical crisis-a $7.00 film roll+developing process service is actually costly, especially,oh how badly hurt it could strike my bleeding heart when only 4 pathetic pictures came out good-the rest totally over-exposed-a bad omen that there's somehow, despite the black tape meticulous sealing,a leakage-or probably more that cost me a lil hole in my dusty pocket.i feel like throwing it down from the tallest building,i am so pissed off,i can't describe in words.

anyway-i got hold of my old minolta-in quite a bad shape actually-the rubber parts peeling off and i had no confident of using it,but the 20mm lens really enticed me to try, after a long while.first the batt totally dried up,so i bought a new one and replaced it,then it was whirring and wasn't functioning the way it supposed to-had to sacrificed a roll of film-it reversed and the film went right inside its cocoon.i took it out, peel it and pull out the film and started all over again-and then, there was a 'click' sound, and it was good all over again.took the 'expendable' film, slot a new one and we were lovers once again.

i gotta fix my holga,or replace it,or forget about it entirely, coz i got my minolta kickin'!

Angels-Robbie Williams

Angels.

Robbie Williams startled me up this morning,he sang thru the tiny holes of the speakers situated at the corner of the room,i must say i've never liked anything about him but listening carefully to his lyrics which broke the morning silence, still with my eyes half closed, and very soon he got me singin along already and by then it doesn't really matter the lyrics were wrong-coz i felt good.

i felt good coz hours earlier,me and Akai set off on my black scoot,in a heavy downpour, just to watch the live match between Liverpool vs Marseille at a 24hours coffee shop.groggy and wet and nothing could stop us both-and its not being drenched in the rain or riding dangerously on the wet road surface that kept me smiling-it's the burning spirit of 2 most loyal Liverpool fans, and which Stevie G wonderful header which gave The Mighty Reds a victory in the wet, cold wee hours of the morning.

and that's why it got me singin'.now let's sing a long!

Viva La Liverpool!

its such a beautiful tuesday-the sun is shining gloriously-everybody's smiling-everybody seems like dancin'-i feel good and happy-felt real good whippin out my holga and snappin away till the end of the film which means that i could send my film for developing and collect the one that i 've sent last week.

let's hope the sun shines throughout-coz we've got our football practice later-and my feet itchin',and honestly the real reason i went back home last night solely to get my boots and jersey-and i spent a long long time standing in front of the wardrobe, contemplating which liverpool jersey i wanna fit in for the game!

I Ran-A Flock Of Seagulls

oh!been quite a week.quite a bad start actually,my scoot went thru some service repairs and tuning, sent for inspection, road tax and insurance update-and the bill total up to some severe damage to my pocket-and i've not recovered from the repercussion actually-anyway,it's for the good,if not the better of my transport-at least it's functioning very well now, without choke or glitches midway during my journey.and the exciting part is-the scoot tech 'apek' actually re-configured the speed and now i could rev the throttle way beyond the average powercut!haa!nice!but not to be abused!especially during this wet period of the year.and the accident i saw last evening was really a reminder actually,God have mercy on them.

a lotta things happening this week actually,so Obama was the chosen one-in the midst of this economical gloom-the flood in Yemen which took many lives and homes-it's a wake up call for everybody!

and things happening to me-me and Nazir participated in the Rockwall competition last weekend-and i'm gettin' serious about this already!and we played football at the pitch yesterday!way out cool!the last time i tucked my boots when i was in secondary 2,and yesterday i made a new chapter in life-looking forward to more real footy in future!or yeah-every thursday actually!woohoo!

my workplace already started playing xmas music, and that's a reminder that its gonna be real busy during this school break which coincides with the festive period.go!go!go!

Rain-Madonna

for almost close to 2 months now, after a long while,i finally dipped myself into the pool earlier today.the place was dead, with only few swimmers in the adult pool, and the facility was as dead as a graveyard.but i like the ambience and the limited users-less movement,no noise-actually brings serenity and peacefulness-at least away from all the noisy places,my working place especially.

it took me awhile to adapt actually-slight difficulty adjusting to the strokes, and spoiling the picture -there was no sunshine!it makes the whole mid afternoon at the pool(especially under water!)gloomy and uninterestingly dull.the sky was really grey with dark black patches of clouds moving slowly and in the distant thunder roaring a warning indication that it's goin' to pour again.

rain.
i managed to finish up my 10 laps and just got ample time to walk towards the shower room, when it started dripping.it was drizzling on my journey back, and once i hit home,it was raining crazy cats and mad dogs again.

the other day-i witnessed a phenomenon.i was riding along changi rd-it was a very bad rain-visual was very bad-the roof of the vehicle felt like it's gonna split and tear any moment-and it was that bad-but as we turned somewhere near SG Expo-the stretch of road-was as dry as a desert-my goodness-but in the horizon-it was raining.that was a miracle.that was utterly, one of the coolest thing i've seen.

That's Not My Name-The Ting Tings

in all the sweet words i could think of-and there's always a good reason to celebrate good things and one of the good thing i've actually felt good about in the midst of this global economical and melamine scare,is that Liverpool F.C. victorious battle, against Wigan at Anfield earlier.

dubbed as the "Comeback Kings",the mighty Reds have displayed 'a heart attack' strategy this season, and in many games, they've put on their very best, though pressurized with the opponent teams they faced leading goals during most of the games, but the strong determination of Rafa's beloved boys proved everybody wrong once again.the wonderful skills and a touch of luck,it seems that Liverpool F.C. is developing into an invincible team;a threat on the football pitch at Anfield and anywhere else in this world.whoa!what a vision!dream on!

and to add to this football madness,i've finally got my Psp uploaded with the latest version, deleted plenty files to make room for Ea sports Fifa09!yes finally!i'm still getting familiar with the newly upgraded series;though most of the functions remain the same,it's actually quite difficult compared to 08 or that dumb PES,but i'm actually getting the hang of it,after nights sacrificing beauty sleep ,hooked on 'manager mode' and i'm 'managing' Liverpool F.C...woohoo what a fantasy!!!! Viva La Rafalution!

its the 2nd day of idulfitr, and boy i am really so burnout.but it's fun,to meet and visit luv ones and friends once again.

and it's worth celebrating, especially when the mighty Reds fantastic victory against PSV Eindhoven last night-3 lovely goals by Kuyt,Stevie G and Keane, yes finally Keano!!!!!!Well done!!!
Stevie G's 100th fabulous goal!Keano's 1st and Rafa's 250 games at Anfield!!!indeed it's worth celebrating!!!!Viva La Liverpool!

Salam Eid Mubarak everyone!!

Working Class Hero-Green Day

its gonna be a busy week, with Idulfitr in two days time, and the big outdoor event happening this weekend at Sentosa island, and the multiple events happening at the same time here at my workplace,i predict it's goin' to be a riot.

can't do much at work today, lotsa things planned but got halted, and all this will make my work a lil tougher, but i hope it'll be fine.

it's a blazing sunny day,i can't hardly remove my shades,it's a perfect day to go to the beach,oh boy!i miss my swimming sessions, and its a good thing i can proceed with swimming next week onwards!

goin' out later in the evening, heading to Serangoon with Minerva, wanna check out the Deepavali nite bazaar, hope i could get the murukus i've longed for.

the last Liverpool game vs rival team Everton was fantastic,Nando Torres scored twice!
now that's truly inspirational!
its goin to be a perfect season for The Reds,i hope...

Some Things Gotta Give-Beastie Boys

and we've tried so much to avoid the city as much as we could coz no we 're not a big fan of F1-and anyway if we were to just stand behind those tall fences and barricades,in midst of sweat and stale air, cramped with the rest of strange onlookers, excuse me,i'll rather be elsewhere peaceful and quiet, and i won't even bother to watch it live on tv either.

it's the 26th of september-and marlia turned 26th.and while the rest of the world focusing their attentions on the night race;we had our lil dinner at a quiet restaurant in parkway parade.nothing exclusive,no champagne,no birthday cake-just breaking our fast together and feast on food that filled up the entire space on the table and we can't even finish up all of it.

and for few years now, poor marlia had to celebrate her birthday during this holy fasting month.

Happy Birthday Marlia Pok @ Minerva!
Hey!Don't forget my birthday gift next year!

p.s.-don't comment about the unshaved look-i'm just too lazy,i know, and ebok said "kau main psp satu malam sampai keluar misai??"haha very funny...

Sonnet-The Verve

in less than a fortnight,we'll be celebrating idul fitr, and that means holy month ramadhan is closing in pretty soon.
we've been put through various tests and the fickle tropical weather have contributed much to the tests as well, but all true moslems could do is tolerate and stay calm and cool.

myself,i've been battered, not on weekdays but over the weekends when i've to run events and programmes under the sun,i melted just like others do,and yes the temptations of gulping down ice cool water down the dry throat were so great, but i've managed to pull through till dusk.and great shame to those fellow 'Moslem folks' who didn't abide and respect the holy month, coz even children tried hard and i don't see why those grown-ups can't.

so far during this month,i didn't have enough sleep which i believe many share the same fate as i do-and due to that,i always arrived to work late-and will feel like a zombie.but everytime when i got the chance to sleep early at home,i honestly didn't take the opportunity.reason being there are plenty of stuffs to do-i've got plenty of books i've bought and yet i'm still slow with one right now.and when i can't sleep,i read and i read till i fell asleep.and the next day i've to search where i stopped dead halfway, and that will take me a while coz i've to read the whole passage again.either that,or i'll get down with my Psp,fifa08 manager mode-and seriously, when i start,i'm glued till way too late, and i do think i seriously need attention.really.

or else,i'll lose me day-job.

Stand By Me-Oasis

The Reds meet Stoke City on a bright sunny Saturday afternoon at Anfield, and moments after kick-off,Skipper Stevie G delivered a free-kick shot which landed straight into the net, sending fans jumping with joy only to be disappointed by the referee's questionable decision who disallowed the goal.

Liverpool was in complete domination at the pitch, but however was really very frustrating watching the boys struggling to penetrate through Stoke City's defensive play.there were many opportunities by Keane,Torres,Gerrard and Alonso's long driven shots but only to be safely shielded and kept away by Stoke's Sorensen throughout the entire game.

The visitors team defended real well today, and the saga continues...........

Don't Matter-Akon

Liverpool faced Olympic De Marseille,at their homeground in France, and in the very fast energetic first half ,we've witnessed a shocking opening goal by Cana and hence putting pressure on Rafa boys.but couple minutes later, skipper Steven Gerrard demonstrated an extremely wonderful retaliation and netted the important equaliser and following a foul attempt at the box,Stevie G was awarded a penalty, which he delivered perfectly, even when he had to do it twice, silencing the noisy hostile home crowd, and bringing the game back into the typical hi-tempo 'Champs League' style.

the game was entirely tensed and exciting, and the excitement came at the sound of the final whistle where the visitors team collected away points and another happy trip home.

Cheers to Gerrard and Pepe Reina for all the miraculous saves from the constant bombardments of the Marseille strike crews.

Mighty Reds did it again!

Next game,20th Sept, against Stoke City at Anfield.Viva La Liverpool!

Wish you Were Here-Pink Floyd

Founding member of Pink Floyd;keyboardist Richard Wright died yesterday at the age of 65.May he rest in peace.

"So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell, blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?A smile from a veil?Do you think you can tell? And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?Hot ashes for trees?Hot air for a cool breeze?Cold comfort for change? And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?"
"How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,Running over the same old ground. What have you found? The same old fears.

Wish you were here."

She Loves You-The Beatles

The Mighty Reds marched with glorious triumphant, the win over Man Utd has proven that Liverpool F.C. is back with Rafa's new campaign, with the long wait and our silent prayers has finally been answered earlier today at Anfield.

The game was actually wrecked by Tevez early goal, but that didn't break Liverpool boys spirit and determination,Brown's own goal into Man Utd's net was indeed a miracle and with that equaliser both teams were battling hard, fighting to win.but Ryan Babel's superb shot at 78th minute snubbed the Red Devils into despair.

Rafa played his cards well;with Torres benched and Stevie G was only unleashed at 67th,and new kid Riera fantastic debut gelled perfectly with the rest of the crew, and unmistakably we have embarked in this new season with a big hope that we could win the title again,Keep The Faith!

Best Days-Blur

Big match for the start of a new season, live and loud rivalry at Anfield tomorrow,Liverpool vs Man Utd.Reds gotta be positive even with dark rumours that Stevie G and Torres will be missing out of the game.predicted to be a very tight game and if the capn Stevie and Nando ain't playin',we've to rely on the 'Dutch Combo'-Kuyt & Babel and Benayoun who will also support Robbie Keane, whom we all still waiting for his goal for mighty Liverpool.

it's goin' to be a hard fight, even at home battleground but the team needs every support from the loyal fans who's goin' to be at the stadium tomorrow, and by God's will,Rafa Benitez and his new campaign will prove it to the world again!

and hey we never forget what happened to no.20 Mascherano last time round!

Dani California-Red Hot Chilli Peppers

they never fail to entertain me with their catchy songs and stage antics.
salute!
sing to this yo!

Setting Sun-The Chemical Brothers

Here is my 10 most favourite posters ever!

Posters are a medium, important in reaching out to the masses, enticing one to be curious and interested in knowing the subject of the poster more, either by watching the movie or by purchasing the poster as an inspiration and using it as decoration on their ugly dusty wall.
Watching E.T. brought me back to my childhood days when my brother and his dumb friends who were always with their bmx and kuwaharas and my bro won't let me touch his bike until one day i sneaked out with his kuwahara but ended up with a pretty bad accident and things made worse when i got back home and mom gave extra 'bonus'trashing.

Ultra violent Alex and his droogs-a much messed up life of boys and got brainwashed by the system according to Stanley Kubrick.the movie was released in early 70s.classic material.

No possessed Linda Blair in the poster but yet just by looking at it give a sense of spookiness and chills down the spine.another 70s horror flick but is still one the best American horror movie ever made.
Pte Gomer Pyle story and how the war being fought in Nam.and also the fact that it's one of another good war movie ever made."Me Love You Long Time!"

the movie Jaws had an impact on many swimmers and non-swimmers alike-the fear of sharks!the minute you dip your head underneath the sea,the big picture of shark attack will appear in the mind-the fact that sharks are shy creatures and unless provoked it won't even come close or again who knows if you're 'fortunate' enough.

watchin Jaws 3 at the old Capitol theatre with 3d shades for effects was really unforgettable!i wish i could go back in time.

Not because i'm a big Star Wars fan but when i first looked at it i fell in love straight away, young Anakin's shadow is Vader!despite the soft colours and here it is in the background a dark force emerging.

For those who have no clue what the movie Snatch all about-you Suck Big time!one of the best British 'Gangsta' movie-a comical yet entertaining-underworld crime lords, lost diamond and fixing matches-and Brad Pitt as an Irish boxer.

Pulp Fiction,Quentin Tarantino-enuff said.

now Band of Brothers is not a movie but to me it falls into the same war movie category-its a HBO mini series and sure Akai got me addicted!

another Guy Ritchie's work, another gangsta movie.

Like A Prayer-Madonna

been days now that Muslims all around the world observe the obligatory fast, during this holy month of Ramadan.and it's not only abstaining from consuming food and drinks during the day of fast-which is from dawn to dusk, but it's also refraining from 'unhealthy' acts like smoking or sexual practices.a Muslim is encouraged to spend more time in devotion to God during Ramadan,to abandon 'earthly materials' like comfort & possesions,to feel oneself and experience how a poor, unfortunate person without food and home would feel.it's also a month of charity and sharing food to break the fast together.

the first couple of days of fast, there was this throbbing stinging sharp pain on my left portion of the head;especially on my left eye-i don't really wanna think that was a migraine, but the pain was terrible.i wasn't really focused, even when i shut my eye i could feel the rhythm of the tribal beat.so that was the initial start,i guessed my body didn't have adequate water or probably not enough rest ever since the round island cycling-but today,Alhamdulillah, the pain is gone, and once again i am able to think and perform my daily routine in perfect health.

i won't feel hungry during fasting, its only the thirst, and controlling thirst is not as easy as controlling temper coz some people and their actions really just get me over the edge, and yes that's fast is all about-to control oneself.calm and collected-cool like a cucumber and draw closer to God-it's a shield to protect us from comitting sins and also to practise a good habit of doing good things, not only in this month, but in one's lifetime.

Happy Fasting Brothers & Sisters!

Beat It-Michael Jackson

the fresh start

the unplanned & unprepared replacement

I'VE MADE IT!!

120km round island cycling challenge in 12 hours, and it really tested my endurance and faith.

We met up and registered at Pasir ris, sadly enough Yanto and Adil couldn't make it on the last minute and so i got Marlia as a replacement, which she joyfully agreed upon instantly.there were many cyclists, most with their personal bikes, looking seriously cool and calm, everybody were inspecting their bikes with chats and occasional laughters.

me and marlia was designated to group 1,and was issued a pink wristband and worn on the left wrist.there were about 20 folks in my group, and after a welcome briefing,we left the starting point with me feeling the oddest among all.i had hard time adjusting to the change of gears especially on approaching slopes.but after being guided by the team leader,i gradually improved on it.

we cycled from pasir ris to changi, down to ECP and stopped midway for toilet break.continued all the way through swarms of picnic goers at east coast and stopped again at Indoor stadium.marlia was complaining her tummy hurts quite badly.we then cycled through Kallang,Nicoll Highway, past the Esplanade and through the skyscrapers at CBD,Keppel Rd,we past by Vivo City,Telok Blangah,Pasir Panjang and stopped at West Coast Macdonalds for about 10mins.
by then Marlia got this worried and tired look on her face, and so she took the lorry instead.not bad for a begin-from Pasir ris to West coast.i'm so proud of her.well done!

and when we hit the road again,it was one of the worst moments in my life, from west coast to Jalan bahar,i felt slow and during the journey at the long quiet stretch of Jalan bahar i felt like that whole trip was wrong,my rented bike felt slow and lastly i felt like giving up but my team mates were supportive, which by then only a handful in my team continued on,the rest gave up.and my team mates, they were girls, imagine that, petite looking girls who
took up this challenge, while some hard looking men gave up midway.and i truly admire and respect them, and in other groups, there are even old folks, packing food and stuffs wrapped in grocery plastic carrier and hung it on the handle bar and another riding a mountain bike with a basket in front;so it's not how professional you or your bike look-it's in you.and that kept me going.

my most favorite route, neo tiew rd,had the most spectacular view, with spooky mists forming on the trees and fogs covering the roads, totally bad visibility especially for driving, but it was really nice.we stopped at Kranji and took a 15minute break which we then moved on down Mandai rd,to Yishun dam and through those old colonial houses at Jalan Kayu camp and one final stop at Sengkang coffeeshop.and by then i could hardly feel my butt,it hurt so much i had to swallow painkillers and rub lotion on it.i swear it could be even worst if i didn't wear that padded cycling tights.

marlia joined on the final route,we cycled towards Hougang and turned down old Tampines rd where she began to slow down and finally fell from her bike.she quit and once again hopped on the support vehicle.i was way back from the rest,i cycled real fast trying to catch up with them and by then it was sunrise and managed to join my team at Pasir ris and we reached the ending point together.

it was really a challenge,i didn't believe i could finish it and i did.i really takes a lot of determination, and i should actually be prepared for this, which in fact i didn't.but thank God i manage to pull through,it was one of the most exciting experience in my life and i've learnt many things along the way,and one of it is-patience.

my bum still hurts as i typed this, and my mind still reflecting the journey on the mountain bike around Singapore in 12 hours on a cold August weekend.oh boy,i feel good!

next:triathlon challenge???

Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood-Santa Esmeralda

the day has come.

high spirited and my lil heart sings quietly, the much anticipated heart throbbin' adventure begins this evening,my group will depart from pasir ris,the 12hour,120km round island cycling challenge, well, hope & pray that me,adil and yanto could finish this in one piece, before the Ramadan, which is this coming monday.

Marlia showed her love and support, bought me cycling pants and Royal robbins shorts, thank you dear!but she's still pissed off of why i wouldn't allow her to participate as well.well, there's plenty reasons why...

i am very much prepared and my knee, hmm, not quite recovered but way much better now,Alhamdulillah.got all my gear and stuffs packed neatly in a small bag,and right after work later,a short scooter ride to the starting point which is just nearby from my workplace.
i'm just a lil worried about the weather,it's been rainin' pretty bad lately, but i'm sure that won't stop us from ridin',unless the roads got swallowed by floods, well hope not...

gotta rest now-i really can't wait........

Just A Friend-Biz Markie

I swear it was one of the most tensed game ever! Kuyt you're a super hero!

Liverpool faced Standard Liege in the 2nd leg at Anfield earlier today, and i must say, even with The Reds Fans chanting anthems to boost morale support,Standard Liege was really unbothered.it was really frustrating, watching the boys struggling real hard to penetrate Standard Liege's defence, and when it extended to extra time, all were worried that it might ended up to penalty kicks, but Dirk Kuyt proved another miracle this morning,at the final minutes of the extra time and bringing victory and opportunity for Liverpool qualifying the Champs League Group Stages 2008.

The Euro draw will be conducted in Monaco's Grimaldi Forum at 5pm UK time.

Viva La Liverpool!Viva Dirk Kuyt!

Eye Of The Tiger-Survivor

be Like Michael Phelps?
Phelps is an American swimmer and a solid 14 time Olympic Gold Medalist;currently holds with pride,7 world records. He got 6 Gold and 2 Bronze at the last Athens Olympics, and only recently at Beijing he got 8 Gold for himself and his country.
with his winning spirit and anthropometrics advantage,he is super fast in the pool.

this is what i've found out;

-At 6’ 4” Phelps has the length in the pool he needs
-An arm span of 6’ 7” gives him incredible pulling power in the water
-He has the torso of a 6’ 8” man that aids his reach
-Phelps’ torso is hydrodynamic (low drag) being long and thin and triangular shaped
-He has the legs of a 6’ tall man giving him a stouter kick, power in the turn and a hydrodynamic lower half
-Phelps’ hands are huge and can grab a lot of water
-His feet are even larger (size 14) and act as a flipper
-Plus Michael Phelps is double jointed which lets him whip his arms, legs and feet through a greater range of motion than most.

If It Makes You Happy-Sheryl Crow

LFC played against MiddlesBorough at the Reds homeground, and after a goal-less 1st half,Liverpool still not making any progress.with the rather slow gameplay that the team displayed suggests that they are still not fully operating at their fullest yet.the entire team need to work more fluidly with each other, especially with the new stars on board, and yes one might say that its the start of a whole new season, but Reds need to show improvements and produce convincing results.Mido's goal weighted pressure on both Liverpool players and fans alike, the boys in red struggled hard penetrating Boro's defence.
Carra's equaliser boosted morale among the men,as time drew closer towards 90th minute, and truly most incredible was Stevie G's shot during the final minutes that saved the day after all.

the next game this thursday a.m. against Standard De Liege-we gotta go for win!

If we can play good football last Champs League, why can't we do the same in EPL?

Travelling Without Moving-Jamiroquai

i was enjoying the Olympics womens football final between Brazil and USA earlier, watchin' it live on cable tv;Worker's stadium in my living room.and it was really a very dramatic match,i mean those girls were good,it was a hard game and of course one must not compare the womens football to mens,i mean, you know what i mean, same game, same rules but hey, they're girls, the game speed and intensity way slower than mens game but i really respect and admire their skills and determination.true dat!and it was a hard fight which was extended to extra time when finally Lloyd Carli rammed the ball into Brazil's net and with that goal, added extra pressure on the yellow shirts, which could be seen on their faces.and eventually, when the referee blew the final whistle, both USA players and fans were jumpin' with delight and joy, leaving the poor Brazilians with some whom couldn't control their emotions and burstin' into tears, still unbelieving they couldn't beat the red, white & blue champs.

and one comment i would like to add-the girls looked real ugly spitting during the game!
(like guys not?but hey we're so used to that!!)

Always On My Mind-Elvis Presley

'He sees himself on the banks of the Nile river,
The water is receding before him, becoming mere mud,
The fish begin to skip and jump in the mud.
Seven fat cows come out of the river and followed by seven lean cows.
The seven lean ones devour the seven fat ones.
Then, seven ears of green grain grow on the river banks, and disappear in the mud.
On the same spot, grow seven dry ears of grain.'

After The Love Has Gone-Earth,Wind & Fire

A crocodile was caught by anglers at sungei tampines off pasir ris beach.it is believed that is the same croc which hit 'fear' among the community recently.

the croc was wrestled down by 3 guys and after snapping pictures they called up and handed the poor crocodile over to the police.

i'm totally unimpressed.they shouldn't have done that, pulling the creature up on the boardwalk with force, pinning it down, taping with scotch tape and handing it over to the authorities doesn't make them heroes.and does the capture of that wild animal, always pictured as dangerous and 'will attack human on sight',will apply on all other wild animals as well?like for example snakes, monkeys and monitor lizards, which in fact will also attack human,if provoked, yes IF PROVOKED!even if another human provoke another human, the latter will attack the other.it's naturally being defensive.
now don't be influenced by those ignorant human beings-who supposed to be intelligent, they create rumours that a 'one metre crocodile' will attack if you swim at Pasir Ris beach, and instead of doing something more productive, some dumb anglers channel their energies of capturing a poor baby croc and handed it over to the cops who later sent it to the zoo.now very smart move those so called 'croco heroes',you guys have just remove an innocent creature from its home.

that's a total failure of showing respect to nature.

Can't Fight This Feeling-Reo Speedwagon

Week in,week out,it's about a couple weeks more to September.the EPl already kicked off last weekend, the Olympics in Beijing, the crocodile in Pasir Ris and the tiring courses that i was sent by the Co.Oh look how fast time flies...

With new stars in the Anfield crew-Robbie Keane,Phillip Deggen,Andrea Dossena,David Ngog & David Cavalieri and with the comeback kid Daniel Agger back in action and sadly that Tom Hicks and George Gillett stopped the $18 mil Gareth Barry deal and that Aston Villa's midfielder won't be hummin' the Liverpool anthem at all.

The current news is the Olympics in Beijing of course, and much i would love to say much but sad that much that i didn't have the time to watch it live!even the football and swimming segments that i've tried to follow but my plans failed due to commitments at work.i hate it!

Pasir Ris beach is only a breeze away from my darling workplace, but its been a awhile i've not gotten myself wet, casting nets and hauling mullets and crabs, and ever since my work laden multiplied,i've actually have stopped fishing at all.have seen and heard weird and interesting things during those dark creepy weeknights when the beach was dead quiet before, seen colonies of beautiful colorful jelly fishes, barracudas chasin lil fishes and a gigantic monitor lizard carcass, which was mistaken for a crocodile on the sandy beach.and when the rumours spread around last couple of weeks,i just giggled-probably just another monitor lizard, but when i saw the pic,i was truly convinced!it does look like a croc alright!but all i wish for is that all those curious 'adventurers' to stay away from that reptile coz it might get nasty if provoked and let it be in peace in its so called newfound habitat-may they breed in abundance and live happily together with fellow pasir ris residents!something i really would love to see and be proud of a new blooming wildlife, here in sunny eastern side of Lion City!God Save the Croc!

Needles & Pins-Ramones

day 2 at the acupuncture's joint-i was electrified again!

yeah, despite the busy schedule,i managed to visit and got the personal feel of the exotic pricks-acupuncture!

was introduced by my colleague,we actually visit the acupuncturist during lunch hour the other day-and despite the 'piercing' look,it's not actually as painful as it seems.just felt like an ant bite or so to say.when i first stepped into the clinic,i must say it looked pretty much like an ordinary clinic, only that most of the signages and directions on the walls, even the pictorials of human body are labelled in chinese.herbs in phat containers and idols adorned the shelves, and i'm the only one out, well except me and my filipino compadre larry, who was busy focusing his football on psp.
-my neighbourhood g.p. who diagnosed me with osteo athritis or O.A. in short, said it's gonna take a long while to recover,no running or swimming but i could proceed with cycling which she added is good for me.

-the acupuncturist on the other hand, said NO exercise of any form, but when i told him about the cycling challenge this month end,he said,my knee should be well by then.

so i like to stick to the acupuncturist's instructions-a more feasible plan.and being comparative with both visit-the g.p. gave me 2 days mc,painkillers for 3 days and a soothing gel which don't improve my knee pain-except for me idling for two days of course.the acupuncturist visit actually have a better progress;it's less painful now,i can actually bend and stretch my knee with only a slight pain now, lookin good!

the method the acupuncturist used-about 5-6 needles around the knee area, and applied electrolysis current for about 10 minutes, and after he removed the needles,he rubbed some cooling ointment and then start direct massaging onto the area-and believe me-it's painful.once done,he cupped the affected areas with bamboo containers.about shortly after that,he applied green ointment around my knee and wrapped it up with a bandage.prescribed some weird, sand like herbs which is to be mixed in a cup of hot water and drink.and yes it's not sweet.

and earlier this morning was my 2nd visit,my third will be this wednesday.hope and pray my knee will be in good form again.
