been a while now since i last watch a movie at the theatre.but i'm kinda picky actually on which movie best viewed at the theatre-epic movies are usually the best to shell out precious money-and of course its money well-spent,with the state of the art visual and sound and big wide screen for you to glue your eyes onto,it's like being in the movie,and isn't that what its supposed to be;to feel and be part of,or,to take the role of the hero or the villain,or at least that how i picture myself to be.
besides epic movies,i don't rule out horror/action/suspense or even comedy flicks but unless rated really good,its best to watch it on dvd or online instead.
and so i learnt that there are good movies 'showing at theatres near you' pretty soon or 'akan datang',join Agent Fox Mulder and Agent Dana Scully in the X-Files latest-'I Want To Believe',
The Mummy sequel-Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor;
and Madonna's hubby Guy Ritchie's new upcoming 'gangsta' movie,'RocknRolla';
and it wasn't that bad,after days of reservist training,i'm pretty much back to my normal life again,kinda miss the fun already and i don't really feel like goin' back to work tomorrow but i guess i don't have an option.
me and the rest of my team back there all agreed upon one damn thing for sure;we had the best time together,and despite what everybody picture us goin' back to camp facin the tough trainings and all that,well,that didn't happened to me and my 'Signallers' team of 9 fortunate dudes.we had the bestest time!the only worried us was IPPT test and that's it.and good thing i passed the test for those who didn't,have to go back for remedial trainings for 6 consecutive saturdays,which i particularly dislike;especially when my line of work needed me more over the weekends.
one of the good news was that we don't have to bunk-in so every single morning,i had to wake up at 5.15am,left home around 6.15am and my God,the only thing which scares me every single time,was the amount of traffic at the highway upon reaching Jln Bahar,it was seriously notoriously dangerous.1st lane-cars dashing mad like F1,buses on the 2nd lanes,4th and 3rd lanes long lines of heavy trucks and the reckless malaysian bikers squeezing and speeding without even sparing thoughts of other road users-hey this is a concern,the traffic cops should administer this problem.it's really scary! once i reached camp,had my breakfast,then morning rollcall and parade which followed by the usual daily routine-training.and my training with my team was conducted in an aircon room every day!it was a holiday camp!and i mean it really.we had many meal breaks (official and unofficial ones..)we talked and laughed a lot,and yes we even could have power naps!and instead of 6 days of reservist training,it was slashed to 4 days-it was fun and the only thing not fun was that we were made tired of waiting other platoons to complete their trainings and that's it.now i really looking forward to the next In-Camp training!
in sweet words,all the efforts,the crazy daily jogs and the midweek swimming sessions and not forgetting a month without ciggies really paid off in the end,i'm so exultant!!!it was really one of the most tensed moments as i waited for my turn earlier today,i had to swallow painkillers and sprayed a hell lot of deep-heat ointment onto my right knee and a kneeguard over it,it worked temporarily good and depleted the pain during the whole session.
i made a progress.last year's 2.4km run was 11 mins 50secs,today i broke that record at 11min 26 secs!it ain't easy but i gave my best and i was rewarded-a Silver for this year's IPPT and also that means another $200 in my bank account.
Alhamdulillah,i've made it!and 2 more days we're done with the training!!!!!!
Woooooohooooooooo!!!!!it feels good to be fit and healthy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
one more night and that's all i have,gotta wake up at 5am,gotta report in full uniform,clean and pressed and gotta march with full pride,stomach in-chest out,at the parade square tomorrow,and you bet i don't feel good tonite,especially when i learnt that we have to bunk in every night,and we're disallowed to leave camp and we're totally disconnected from the world.almost.
few more days and i've finally break the smoking habit for 30 days.now that's something.thought i would never last for a month,but it's coming true,finally.no cravings,no troubling side effects and everytime smoke gets in my face,or a slight whiff of cigarette smoke,it got me really irritated-it's really unimaginable,that i once adore,now became an object of hate-hah i'm just exaggerating-i just dislike the smell that's all.Alhamdulillah i kicked the bad habit,dude!
the world is in a standstill now,the fuel price don't look like it's gonna recede any sooner,and that 's pretty worrying.and i got a bad feeling its gonna be worse especially if Iran is hit.
my stomach's bloated but Thank God i could still walk. my breath,my clothes and fingers too -all reek of durians!Ohh i love durians!
yes been few days now,that i braved the heavy traffic along sims drive,got my fingers and mouth all sticky as i slowly gobbled down golden yellow heavenly ever-alluring durians.it may be pungent to some,but it's so aromatic and delicious to me,and i believe most who travelled all the way to sims and balestier share the same reasons as me too!it's the time of the year for durian lovers to be merry again!goodness,durians as cheap as $2,$1,50cents and even some places 20cents!this is really crazy!durian merchants even have tables setup,with tissue boxes,drinking water and wash basin for your convenience.i've seen people from all walks of life-fellow locals,Caucasian tourists,Indian and Republic of China nationals all crammed in one joint.the road sides lined with vehicles parked illegally,causing major congestion-all because of durians!Marlia had it,said she's sick of eating durians,but i dragged her along earlier anyway.it's high time,with good reason to be glutton,food hike?7% GST?no those green thorny durians don't apply for now,but rush now before they change their minds,they could be fickle.Thank God we're blessed with super duper real cheap durians!
the Night Festival at the museum (and SMU) last night was great!quite humid and although we were quite far apart from the show,we enjoyed every bit of it.the props they used,my God,were massive and very interestingly amusing!it was very crowded and the only almost good pic i took was this below!(and completely pointless taking pictures at night when the subject/s so far away and the tripod is tucked neatly at home..duh..sheer negligence...)
this may not be a lil too late.The National Museum organised the pretty much hyped 'Night Festival' which kicked off last night,and if you got time you could still join em' tonite,the last show will be at 2330hrs-0130hrs,and they boasted a large scale outdoor performance with internationally acclaimed Studio Festi of Italy.and if you miss,don't be sad,you can join em again this 25th and 26th,another party bash featuring The Beatnik Picnic by Zouk with local and international live acts.it's gotta be good.(but thank God i gotta stay In-Camp next week!)
I think I remembered jotting here somewhere that it has been a dream of mine and Muradikal my friend,to produce a book with probably hundreds or possibly thousands of colourful pictures of least pleasant looking tattoos and I would like to name it ’Most ugliest tattoos ever inked on flesh on this side of the planet.’
Of course, the tattoo contributors must be from this side of the planet,namely south east asia,no further,and that’ll be conveniently easier to cover.
But why tattoos?one of the strongest reason is that I see ugly tattoos on both ugly and nice looking people everyday and the tattoos are usually repeated,carbon copy,monkey-see-monkey-do prints.not original,nothing interesting and seems that everybody is proudly having the same or almost similar tattoo as I see it.how silly!
and sadly,they way i see it,the book will never be published,and hmmm don't ask...
anyway,Aviva Yael and P.m Chen released a similar book,and for those who're keen on tattoos and all that,you can check out the book yourselves.look interesting though!

Sometimes i feel like runnin away from everything when everything seems to be against me,but most times i take those as challenges,facin' it like a real man,but at times i feel like runnin' and runnin away from all this crap,but again,i tell myself,let's face it,bring it on yo!get some!coz everybody else is facing the same shit as well (or worse?).
Thursday and everything doesn't look good,from the weird weather to the crappy bits at work,no it's not good at all.days from now and i'll be haulin' my sorry ass to the west,serving my country,being called back for reservist,doin my part for my beloved country.sounds funny eh.
anyway,a week of absence from my daily routine,now that sounds a lil bit fun actually,i'm lookin forward to it,meeting up with people with the same fate as myself,and hey that's gonna be next week.i call this - a regimental vacation-at least i don't have to face the hectic life at work,being at the camp,just nod to whatever those officers say,perform whatever duties they ask,don't argue,never abuse anything and everything will be safe and good.a week of heavenly hell.i can't wait..

With the recent fuel and food inflation,every single price tag on planet Earth seems to follow the same pattern-that is increasing and not the other way round(one stick of satay=50 cents now!wow!),and not to mention we're still stuck with the same non-motivational digits on our payroll which is kinda worrying actually.(Hey Boss if you're reading this,c'mon be nice and fork out some additional few hundreds in my next and all consecutive pays please;transport+ERP charges+parking fees+vehicle maintenance allowances,oooh thanx!you're a darling!i promise i'll report to work 15mins earlier everyday and stay back 15mins later than usual!!!!!and i'll take ony 15mins mealbreak!!!!deal???)
i felt the pinch when i travelled to town yesterday,and i've vowed NOT to enter city when the ERPs are operational.and just in case if you're still livin' under the coconut shell,ears pluggin,head bangin' to Ricky Martin "She Bangs";since last monday,5 new ERP gantries started operation already;-Toa payoh,Upper Boon Keng,Kallang Bahru,Geylang Bahru and last but not least,Upper Bukit Timah.and seriously,if you are affected badly by the new ERP implementation,i strongly suggest you change your mode of transport or camp at your office,seriously.
Thank God,i'm working in the East,and i'm spared from the malicious deductions.but i got the funny feeling,it won't be long till you'll find,everywhere from east to west side of sunny Lion City,those prominent ERP gantries will decorate our busy roads.and very soon the ERP gantry will fit into picture perfect colourful postcards and sent through out all over the world,a national icon,just like the Merlion,Vanda Miss Joaquim and the thorny Esplanade...i'm lovin' it!aren't you proud of it?
and just a crazy suggestion-shouldn't we stop the traffic and close all roads with ERP Gantries on New Year's Eve,round up everybody and do the countdown together utilising the big LED screen?they could use some pyros and fireworks and some big speakers rig to the gantry's frame-it could be spectacular,don't ya think?or how about national day celebrations,we could parade from one gantry to another,and we could have goodie bags with cashcard giveaways!ooh that'll be cool ain't it?or the ERP marathon!runners with mini IU units fabricated onto their watches!how about ERP F1 race?and toying the idea-"Your ERP Gantry in Colour!with different theme on each gantry islandwide-coz it looked so dull in grey....

i was ridin back home when suddenly i felt so tired.real tired,my eyes almost disconnected from focusing on the busy highway ahead.i've been busy.busy with my daily routines and schedules.even on my day off,i was busy preparing for my IPPT which will be on this month end.my regular wednesday swim won't be so tiring if i didn't run laps at the stadium beforehand,under the midday sun,but i kinda enjoyed the challenge.and almost a month now,that i've been jogging every single night,not only that i'm preparing myself for the silly IPPT,i'm getting myself ready for the round island cycling challenge as well.
i went out with minerva earlier this evening.went down to far east square,with intent to checkout the toy robots store,but i was a bit shocked when i arrived,the entire robot collection wasn't there no more,and was replaced with some other uninteresting toys.
but what really shocked me more was,the no. of ERP gantries which we sped by today.and as far as i remembered,it was 3.and that equated to the sum of $3.00 altogether.Good God!good thing i am not working in town,and if i do,i won't ride to work,i'll rather take other alternative-public transport.my...Oh OH!this is SO crazee...
we went window shopping,feasting our eyes on the post-Great Singapore Sale,my heart was throbbing,each time i saw something nice.and so we were in this shop,she was asking the sales person her size for this Vans sneakers and i was looking around at this shop at Heeren,and my mouth was wide agape when this lil kid was checking this 'ordinary-looking' backpack and on the shelf where he took the bag was a big price tag-$300-Woooooooooooooooooo.i won't pay that much dough on something which i could get with better quality and value for money.it's a Porter backpack.hmmm..enuff said...

On 3rd of July,Anwar Ibrahim brought forward allegations that Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak was involved in the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder case.

Ex police officer of Royal Malaysian Police Force,left the force and turned a freelance private investigator,was employed by Abdul Razak Baginda to protect him and daughter Rowena as well,against Altantuya harrasments. he made a statutory declaration on july 1st 2008 and claimed that the police suppressed evidence to protect personalities including evidence linking DPM Najib Abdul Razak to Altantuya's murder.but on July 4th,Bala retracted his declaration,said that he did it under duress.and since then he and his family was missing,and the police has seek interpol's help to locate him as well. read here for his statutory declaration on july 1st.

(Shaariibuugiin Altantuyaa)was murdered in cold blood,body was shot and exploded with c-4 explosive in 2006.she's a Mongolian and had relationship with Abdul Razak Baginda,a political and defense analyst,was introduced to him by Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister, Najib Abdul Razak(then defence minister)at an international diamond convention.2 officers from Malaysia's Special Action Unit(who were also body guards of Najib Abdul Razak)and Abdul Razak Baginda himself was detained and the case is still on going now.

Malaysia is getting into deeper political turmoil and just days ago,thousands attended a rally against their government for the fuel hike at kelana jaya stadium, the crowds arrived in unison wearing red with the word "Protes!(Protes Sejuta Rakyat)" displayed angrily on their banners,shirts and even bandanas despite being warned by the home minister Syed Hamid Albar that the gathering was illegal.it was a festive gathering,with entertainment and locals taking advantage by setting up booths selling food and drinks and also speakers from various opposition(pakatan rakyat) parties which included former deputy prime minister Anwar Ibrahim,injecting awareness and condemning Barisan Nasional's devious manipulations to the attendees on that day.
i spend my weekend trapped playin tracks for colorful anime and manga fantasy-seekers,they dressed in the most weirdest costumes from their crowns right down to their toes,the event celebrated annually at my workplace and i must say it takes real courage to dressed in your most fave fantasy icon,strutting with pride and confidence and pose glamorously,drawing attention out of mobs of curious onlookers lashing out their digital and phone cameras ,snapping and bursting flashes for unforgettable memory sake.fingers in a "V" sign,high up in the air,making cute faces imitating Harajuku girls and boys.this seventh Cosplay event ended with all of em dancing the "Caramella Dance'(shuffle?..nope..) on stage.its a twist of anime characters and halloween creatures on a sunny july weekend.

i was quite shocked to learn that they're actually constructing a rotating building in Dubai,and as you read this,works are actually in progress right now and the new building,which is called The Dynamic Tower,is made up of 80 pre fabricated apartments which will spin independently of one another.
the futuristic 'Dynamic Tower' will don Dubai skyline and there are also plans to build a 70 storey similar skyscraper in Moscow and New York as well.
if you're interested-Sales of individual apartments will begin in September, with asking prices of around $3,000 per square foot. The smallest, at 1,330 square feet, would cost about $4 million and the largest, a 12,900-square-foot villa, $38.7 million. Giant wind turbines installed in between of every floor and will generate enough power to generate electricity on the entire building, and elevators will allow penthouse residents to park their vehicles right in their apartments.

Checkout both of these documentaries below- was doin my 'business' at the toilet earlier when i suddenly recalled about this vid-UK/DK,and how difficult it was to catch hold of it before.i had to patiently wait for my turn,and had to collect the vid,which was in the old VHS tape format,on the other end of the island,but i remembered clearly when i got it,me and my fellow friends made lotsa copies for our personal usage.but until today i didn't quite remember where i kept it.
was another super hot sunny day,another day to the pool,as i reached i disembarked from my black scoot,opened up the seat and i threw in my mod helmet,grabbed my gear and during that time as i about to shut the seat,i accidentally threw in the bunch of keys as well.AHHHHHH!!! now i can't open it up and i can't switch the ignition obviously-IT'S IN THE SAME BUNCH OF KEYS!and hotdamn,i was already perspiring,now i can't really think so i just went the pool to cool myself out,calm myself down.but during the swim,i kept thinking of how was i gonna take my keys out of the seat storage...i can't swim no more so i abandoned my swimming session after 3 laps,hit the shower and rushed back to fix the problem.there was this nice soul,i asked him for a screwdriver,he came back with 2,helped me throughout,under the killer heat,and after bending and pulling the seat through and fro,i finally figured out how to peel the latch.YES!!!!i finally did it after 20 mins of struggling,and somewhat i felt like a thief trainee.thanked the dude for helping me out and i made a dash to my local town council to pay my fine.YES,I GOT SUMMONED yesterday for parking without a valid coupon...well talkin about being not so lucky..

it was a perfect Wednesday bright and sunny,the pool was rather quiet,no swimming lessons conducted(no kids!!) and hence my regular midweek swimming session today was totally undisturbed,and also i felt good coz i don't have to pay for any parking fee since i parked my big black scoot illegally at the back of the pool.a big smile indeed.gotta be a lil bit miser especially with the uncertain escalating prices of our daily necessities,i gotta save, don't i?
traveling on the road,my heart boils at a very fast rate especially with the midday's scorching heat burning my expose flesh,and whether with intent or unintentional provoke;any average man could turn into incredible Hulk.and the weather put everybody's patience to a test.
but thank God i'm not a superhero yet,coz if i possess such mighty power,i definitely would have abuse it and unleashed my vengence upon those who pissed me off mostly comprised of posh and cab drivers,these selfish group of inconsiderate road cretins,who think that they owned the urban roads,changing lanes without signalling,tailgating and reckless driving.still i'm thanking God there is such thing as rules and Laws that we've to abide,or else... i would have gotten for myself one of these wooden knuckles made of walnut.(click on picture to get more info.)
but being violent on bad drivers won't change much,i think they should be severely punished,like revoking or suspending their driving license or jail term and so on.get hard on their asses,maybe that'll change things a lil bit.don't waste time on re-educating them-they already knew all along what's right and what's wrong,they are just plain inconsiderate selfish drivers.maybe publish their faces on newspapers,make em embarass!!
